Base Layer – Sevaen° by Climate Technical Gear

, ,

When our friends from Climate Technical Gear provided us with their Sevaen° base layer system for our 8 day fly-in moose hunting trip in norther Ontario, we were so impressed that we wore it every day.

The polypropylene/polyester antimicrobial blend fabric is medium weight, featuring brushed soft inside, flatlocked seams and double layer cuffs providing great warmth, comfort and moisture control. This system is so comfortable in fact, that I even wore it overnight as the uninsulated cabin cooled off very quickly once the wood stove died out for the night. No problem with these comfy PJs.

The soft fabric made this base layer extremely comfortable to wear all day long in the bush. Form-fitted and flexible, the garments didnt hinder movement while hiking, climbing or shouldering a firearm. When the weather got warm mid day, sweat was no issue with moisture control fabric and stripping down to the base layer on top was a comfortable option.

We also made note that when washed or wet in the field, the garments air dry very quickly which is an added benefit when turn around times between morning and afternoon hunts are short.

Perhaps one of our favourite features of this system is the fact that these are 100% Canadian made. Every step of the product process from research of new materials and technologies to designing new product is performed under one roof in Nova Scotia by this second-generation family-run business.

The other selling feature that we know you’ll love is the price point. At a very affordable $45.99 each for the top and bottom, you can afford to stay warm, dry and comfortable this hunting season.

The Sevaen° base layer will be a staple in the field for us from now on.
